Our Vision

Picture
Harvest Christian Preschool opened in 2003, with a vision to help children learn about their God, their world and who they are through play.  Our preschool is a mission of New Dawn Worship Center, an Assembly of God Church in Fremont, California and is located on the same property.  The leadership of the church envisioned an environment in which they could help the community by providing a quality learning environment for children.

Harvest Christian Preschool is staffed by dedicated teachers with professional training and/or experience.   Our classes offer each child optimum learning enrichment within a nurturing, Christian environment.

Philosophy & Goals

Picture
At Harvest Christian Preschool we believe in the education of the whole child.  Our staff strives to promote each child's positive self-concept, to teach group responsibility and sharing skills, and to offer opportunities, which will enhance each child's educational, spiritual, emotional, and physical growth.

The Harvest Christian Preschool staff is committed:
1. To nurture each child in developing and/or maintaining a positive self-concept as a child of God.
2. To offer all children sound educational and social opportunities at an age appropriate level.
3. To use positive reinforcement to create a warm, friendly, and well-managed learning and social environment.
4. To promote and stress Christian values throughout the teaching and management of our program.
5. To maintain a loving preschool environment, that stimulates educational growth, offers a variety of learning activities, enhances social awareness and responsibilities, provides positive individual and group interaction, and promotes self-assurance.

School Calendar

Picture
All parents receive an annual school calendar.  Each class has a school calendar posted for your convienance. Harvest Christian Preschool operates twelve months out of the year. We are closed during Federal and State Holidays, religious holidays seasons, as well as teacher training days.  Unlike the public schools, classes at Harvest Christian Preschool can celebrate the Christian holidays, Christmas and Easter.  In addition we celebrate the traditional and patriotic holidays. (Please see your Admissions Agreement).

Parents will be notified in advance of school closures, or any events that will take place on the front doors classrooms and pocket folders.

We are open daily, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Special Events & Performing Arts

Picture
We offer dramatic play, music, and incorporate performing arts into our curriculum to encourage a love for music.  Every Christmas the preschool holds a Christmas program. All children participate in a drama and sing in a choir for this event. Parents and extended family are all welcome to attend.

Harvest Christian Preschool also offers two Open House events a year. One for parents and one open to the entire community.

All parents are welcome to participate in any special events, classroom parties, and open house events. (Please fill out a volunteer form and remit to the director).

Planned Field trips are scheduled twice a year on a saturday. Participation of these events are optional.

Specialty Programs

Jump Bunch:
(additional costs will apply)

This is a 30-45 minute weekly class. The kids just think it’s fun! Preschoolers need LOTS of physical activity. JumpBunch provides great exercise, but in a structured format that introduces a wide variety of sports, and builds coordination, balance and confidence.

Each class includes warm-ups, floor exercises, the sport activity of the week, stretching, then cool down. We don’t make it competitive for preschoolers; it’s a completely positive experience. It’s amazing how this early exposure makes kids more willing to give new sports a try as they get older.
